Homeschool Rescue by OPC ~ Review

Heather over at Only Passionate Curiosity seeks to make the life of homeschooling parents easier. To this end, she has created a new resource designed as a help for homeschool parents called Homeschool Rescue. Homeschool Rescue is designed to “breathe new life into your homeschool.”

If you have been homeschooling very long at all it is very likely that you have struggled with burnout at some point. Maybe you are struggling with a chronic illness, a special needs child or dealing with a pregnancy or new baby. Or if you are new to homeschooling and are wondering if you are equipped to do this thing called homeschooling. Then you will be happy to hear that Homeschool Rescue was written with you in mind.

This course offers more than 5 hours of videos featuring Heather talking to you like she is right in your living room. Her approach is one of encouragement! She isn’t trying to make us all the perfect, cookie-cutter, pinterest worthy homeschool mom. Instead Homeschool Rescue “is about learning to homeschool with the circumstances you’ve been given with the resources you have and giving yourself the grace to realize you’re really doing the best you can do.” I LOVE THIS!

Along with the videos there are transcripts, audio downloads, homework and workbooks, as well as links to other resources and further information. From the very first lesson, it is obvious that she truly has a heart for helping other homeschool families on this journey.

Homeschool Rescue

Homeschool Rescue covers a multitude of topics! From Troubleshooting Your Homeschool to helping you with Planning and Curriculum. I’m not going to try to list them all but you can look at the picture below to give you an overview of the topics covered.

I have been so encouraged by Homeschool Rescue! I know that I struggle with balancing all the responsibilities that I have as a homeschool, farm wife. I often find myself doubting that I am doing a good job, can you relate? There have been seasons when I feel like I have been in survival mode. Like the times that we have moved, at the beginning of pregnancy or toward that end when I am just so worn out, or when we have a new baby. You know those times when I am just so exhausted.

And yet, I have been able to look back on those times and see that the kids were still learning even then. Sometimes we just need to hear that what we are doing is important and that we are being effective.

There are currently 5 Modules, with 5 lessons in each module except Module 5.course content

I feel that one of the most important lessons I’ve learned over the years in to say no. I’m glad that she covers this very topic in Lesson 1 of Module 2.

Just say no

I really appreciate the encouragement that Heather gives to homeschool parents in Homeschool Rescue!! I am looking forward to completing the remaining Homeschool Rescue lessons.
