August Bounty

Although our garden isn’t so great, we’ve been blessed to be busy canning lots of produce the past few weeks. We purchased 2 bushel of locally grown peaches and canned 27 quart. Of course, we had to eat lots of fresh peaches also. I’m hoping to put up another two bushel so that we might have enough peaches for the year.

We’ve also been busy canning grape jelly, green beans, salsa, and spaghetti sauce. It’s a lot of work but I sure do appreciate having a well stocked pantry all through the year.

I’m also thankful that many of the kids are able to help. Even the 4 and 6 year olds can cut up peach slices. Just give them a cutting board and a butter knife.

I plan to return Monday with the All Around the Home and Homestead Blog party.

Blessings,

Jennifer
