Encouraging Hearts & Home 4.26.18

Happy Thursday! I’m so excited, after waiting for what seems an eternity, we finally were able to plant some garden this week. For the first time this spring, the long range forecast didn’t forecast anything below 40 degrees. Hooray!!

A+ Interactive Math Adaptive Math Curriculum ~ Review

We have had the opportunity to revisit A+ Interactive Math (by A+ TutorSoft Inc.) with Eli, Rebekah and Quinton by using their Adaptive Math Curriculum Online. If you’ve been reading for a while, you may remember that we previously had the opportunity to review their  Family Math Package. You can read about that here.

The Adapative Math Curriculum covers Grades 1–6 and Pre-Algebra. You can have up to 10 students enrolled. When you register, you pick a “target” grade level for each student. The student then completes a series of tests to identify their skill level for each of the math concepts. The questions on the test adjust in difficulty automatically based on the student’s skill level and proficiency. Those concepts that the student doesn’t demonstrate mastery of then become part of their individualized lesson plan. Including, video lessons, interactive review, practice worksheets online, automatic grading and tracking and re-testing. This is a skill based math curriculum.

Other members of the Homeschool Review Crew also reviewed the Family Math Package. The Family Math Package does not test students but it does include access to all the grade levels available; Grades 1- 6, Pre-Algebra and Algebra 1. This membership also includes up to 10 students.
