CHURCH PEOPLE ~ Movie Review

It’s been a while since Scott and I have taken the time (or even thought about having time) to watch a movie but we are both so excited to tell you about the movie CHURCH PEOPLE!

CHURCH PEOPLE features mega church youth pastor, Guy Sides, who has grown tired and frustrated with the turn his ministry has taken. After cutting short his speaking tour, he returns home to find that the lead pastor, Skip, has taken the entertainment factor of the Sand Hills Community church to an entirely different level.

Guy must now to try to reign in the over zealous lead pastor and the young new believer, Blaise, from what could be a potentially harmful or even deadly Good Friday Service. Guy continually asks the question, “Is the gospel enough?”. Be ready to enjoy some light-hearted humor that really does beg the question is the gospel enough.

There is even a five session Discussion Guide which is based on the movie. Each session includes a clip from the feature filmĀ CHURCH PEOPLE, a short devotional, Scripture passages, and discussion questions that will give you the opportunity to reflect on what the Gospel looks like in your own life.

Have you ever wondered if we’ve gone too far in our gimics to make church more fun or exciting? CHURCH PEOPLE is a funny, yet gets to the point film that helps remind us that all we really need is to preach the gospel. Comedy can certainly be the best way to help us see life in a different light. I mean, laughter really is such good medicine, and sometimes it’s just the medicine we need.

I hope you and your family will take the opportunity to enjoy a great Christian comedy this weekend as CHURCH PEOPLE releases!

Blessings,

Jennifer
