The Beginner’s Bible ~ Review

It is hard to believe that a new year has begun and that I am posting our first Homeschool Review Crew review for the year. The kids and I so enjoy the opportunity to review so many great products as part of The Homeschool Review Crew. I hope that our reviews can be a blessing to your family as well.

Our first review comes to you from Zonderkidz. When Mr. B was beginning to read we were introduced to The Beginner’s Bible. Since then, as each child is ready to begin reading more we have gone back to that old standby, time and time again. For this review, we had the opportunity to review the all new and improved The Beginner’s Bible.

If you are not familiar with The Beginner’s Bible let me tell you a little bit about it. This is a collection of Bible stories, written for lower elementary age children to read and enjoy. The book of the Bible and chapter that the story comes from is on the first page of each story. This makes it so easy for the parent to look up the actual story in the Bible.

This remade classic has all new 3D artwork. The book itself is a little larger (taller and wider) than the original but still a great size for those beginning readers to handle comfortably. This beautiful hardcover has 48 Old Testament stories and 46 New Testament stories. The Beginner’s Bible still features the same easy to read, large font text. With over 500 pages in this storybook, including a The Beginner’s Bible Dictionary, there are plenty of great stories for your young reader to enjoy!

Many of the stories have also been rewritten. In the older Beginner’s Bible, the stories were all basically the same length, this left some of the stories not being covered as well as they could have been. The stories in the new version are varying lengths which makes the stories flow much better and ensures that the story line is more complete and easier for the children to understand.

I enjoyed using the older Beginner’s Bible with my older kids; however, it is safe to say that the new version is truly an improved version! The kids have really enjoyed the new beautiful artwork. The cartoon like characters and bright, vibrant beautiful colors really appeal to the younger kids. (Well the new artwork appeals to the older kids and mom as well.)  Here is a glimpse from inside the new version.

The Beginner’s Bible would also be a great resource for families with young children to use for a bedtime story book. The captivating artwork is appealing for even very young children. The Beginner’s Bible is a great way to introduce your family to the timeless stories and lessons from the Bible.
