We have been trying out a brand new program from Smart Kidz Media called Smart Kidz Radio. Smart Kidz Radio is “the only one of its kind on the Internet and features hundreds of original life skills songs and stories that promote positive values.” They want to make Smart Kidz Radio available to all children to help reinforce what they are learning in school in phonics, math, language arts, health, history and science. It is considered an edutainment radio station for kids; I’d say this is a great discription. It is fun and educational.

The upcoming On-Demand station will have song programming for various ages:
- Early Learning Radio Program (Ages 2 – 4)
- Good Behavior Skills Radio Program (Ages 3 – 6)
- Living Skills Radio Program (Ages 4 – 10)

- Bedtime Songs Radio Program (Ages 2 – 8)
- All-Time Favorites Sing Along Songs Radio Program (Ages 4 – 10)

There will also story programming with the on demand portion:

We have been listening to the several of the podcasts which have many, many options. Here are some of them:

- Aladdin and His Magic Lamp
- Alice in Wonderland
- Goldilocks and the Three Bears
- Hansel and Gretel
- Jack and the Beanstock
- Little Red Riding Hood
- Pinocchio
- Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
- and many, many others.
These podcasts are currently available for free but it my understanding that as the on demand portion comes available these will be part of that programming.
They are also releasing apps so that Smart Kidz media will be available wherever you are.
The kids, Eli and younger, have enjoyed listening to some of the podcasts. Most of the podcasts are around 20 minutes in length. They are much like the audio books that we enjoy so much just much shorter which is great for younger kids, with shorter attention spans. We’ve also spent time listening to some of the original songs that play. Of course the kids have enjoyed those as well. When picking up the living room the kids enjoy being able to listen to music so reviewing Smart Kidz Radio has worked especially well for cleaning time.
I look forward to trying out more of the Smart Kidz Radio programming as they continue to unveil it.
