I just finished reading a book unlike any book I’ve ever read before! Typically, I wouldn’t sign up to read a futuristic book with virtual reality suits and bots who are treated as people. This just isn’t the type or reading I typically am drawn to. However, after reading the Author’s Notes, I felt compelled to at least give it a try. 
Despite this being completely different than my normal reading, I was thoroughly drawn in. Young Hattie lives in a world completely different than mine. She in a future time, in Philadelphia after the economy has crashed in the US. Times are tough, very tough. She is faced with HARD decisions and is then faced with the consequences of those decisions.
She made the sensible decision to follow her failing grandfather’s wish so why does she question herself so much? Why do her decisions have to continue to haunt her?

What Do I This About Other Bodies?
I thoroughly enjoyed reading Other Bodies!! Once I would pick it up, I had a hard time putting it down. Not so much because it is my type of reading, but because I wanted to better understand the thought process that Hattie had. How would she decide, what would her regrets be, how would she deal with those regrets??
There are certainly heavy themes in this book but many of our youth are not immune to these themes. They are faced daily with decisions equally as hard as those faced by Hattie. Perhaps, by reading Other Bodies they can see that there are more options than they first thought. Perhaps, they will see the value of the “Other Bodies.”
