Let’s Go Geography ~ Review

Are you all set to travel the world with your children without ever leaving the comfort of your own home?  Let’s Go Geography will help you do just that! Let’s Go Geography is a fun way to study geography with your younger elementary kids. It is designed to be used for grades K-4. However, my 6th grader enjoyed the lessons right along with his younger siblings.

Let's Go Geography

Written by veteran homeschooling mom, Carol Henderson, Let’s Go Geography is a fun weekly geography curriculum.

Let’s Go Geography can be used by one teacher for his/her homeschool or for all of his/her co-op classes. I feel that Let’s Go Geography would be a fun co-op class to teach, with the hands on activities and engaging lessons!

We reviewed the first year of Let’s Go Geography. There will be two more years added. Over the course of the three years most of the countries of the world will be covered. Also each year there are two regions within the US covered.

Below you will find The World Tour 3-year Plan:

My Thoughts About Let’s Go Geography

Let’s Go Geography is set up to study one destination per week; however, we found that the kids really enjoyed the lessons and so some weeks we did more than one lesson. I feel that you could easily pace the course to fit your family’s schedule. If using it for a co-op class one lesson per week would probably be ideal. However, if your kids really love it you could definitely do more than one lesson per week.

We have had fun using Let’s Go Geography. The kids have had the opportunity to color maps for each location, add each flag to their passport, listen to music from other parts of the world, explore the location through videos and pictures, create craft projects and enjoy printables.

Chapter 1: Map It!

The Map It section includes finding the destination on the map. The student is asked to find the destination on the black and white map and then color it.

Chapter 2: Color, Cut and Glue the flag. They are introduced to that country’s flag and can cut it out and place it in their passport.

Chapter 3: The Music.  There is a link for them to listen to native music.

Chapter 4: Explore and Go Sightseeing. There are full color pictures of significant or interesting sights and there are links to see the country. Below are a couple of sample screenshots of the Explore chapters. The first is from Haiti and the second is from Belize.

Chapter 5: Features a craft and/or coloring page. Below is an example coloring page.

Rebekah enjoys coloring so she has especially enjoyed the coloring pages.

We have enjoyed learning about different countries in the world (and different regions in the United States) through Let’s Go Geography!
