About Jennifer

Faithful Homestead Crew

I am a Christian homeschooling mama of 7 sweet blessings.  I also have two step children who have already blessed me with some sweet grandchildren.  Come along on the journey as we become a more self-sufficient family. I grew up canning and raising a garden but I am trying to expand on the types and amount of produce that we can grow and preserve.  We also raise various types of livestock on our family farm. All the while using sustainable practices.

  1. Hi Jennifer! I like your blog. Can I make a couple of requests/suggestions? Add a “Subscribe” button to your sidebar! People will want to be able to subscribe and get notified of new posts 🙂 And maybe instead of having the “Categories” section in the sidebar, consider using a “Tag cloud” so we (the readers)can find posts about specific topics more easily. (You can find both of these options under “Appearance – Widgets”) Nice blog, I’ll keep reading!

  2. HI!
Linked up through pieces of Amy blog. My daughter absolutely loves Reading Eggs! It has definitely helped her to read. I love that she begs me to do her reading 🙂
    Thanks for sharing!

  3. I’m so glad I stumbled across your blog today. 🙂 My husband and I just bought 10 acres (closing on Aug. 3) hoping to grow our own food and raise animals. We also plan on homeschooling our future children. So excited to see someone already living our dream!!

  4. Hi there!

Our family has always lived a sustainable, often off-grid, homesteading lifestyle and some years ago we needed a well at our farm in Texas; so we developed a new system of DIY well drilling. It’s a very lightweight, affordable rig that pretty much anyone can use to drill their own well – even in harder soils like clay and rock.

Our DVD set teaches you how to build the well drilling tool with materials you can buy locally. It also teaches the step by step process of drilling the well. For those who are not interested in making the drill from scratch, we also offer a kit with everything already built and ready to drill.

We’ve been teaching people how to drill their own wells for over 10 years. The drills have been used by people in over 25 countries but we are still trying to get the word out to more people. If you’re interested in helping us do that, I’d be happy to send you a copy of our Well Drilling Instructional Course for your review. Let me know!

    1. I would be interested in reviewing your instructional course. Thank you for offering.:)

  5. I came across your blog today because I was looking for patterns for apple press and grinders. I noticed that in 2011 you and your husband built one and I wondered if you ever made a pattern of how you did that? I would be very interested in that. Thank you.
