The Magic Stories ~ Review

This latest review comes to you from, Allsaid & Dunn, LLC, publishers of The Reading Game and authors of the Wordly Wise series. Their series called The Magic Stories consists of six engaging stories: The Magic Hole, The Magic Ax, The Magic Joke, The Magic Hotdog, The Magic Boots, and The Magic Box.

The Magic Stories are delivered in PDF format and can be printed (which is what we did) or can be used on the iPad or the computer. Eli doesn’t particularly like to read off the computer screen so we printed the each of the stories off.

With each story, there is a list of “40 Naughty Words.” These are challenging words from within the story. With the purchase of The Magic Stories you also get a PDF for printable Card Decks which have the naughty words and their definitions.  There are also Writing and Comprehension Worksheets for each books.

There are also free resources to use with the stories. These include both a running record for one student or a running record to be used in a classroom setting. The running record is used to record how many words the student misses when reading the first 100 words from each story. running record class running record

Eli has enjoyed reading The Magic Stories. They are fairly long for him to read aloud to me in one setting so we have been taking turns reading.
