Cootie McKay’s Nativity is Book 1 in the series by Todd Wilson. It looked like the town’s Christmas would be the worst ever. An accident the had taken out the town Nativity Set. Could Cootie McKay be the one to save their Christmas? How is it possible that someone like him could be any help replacing the town’s nativity set? He didn’t even know what a nativity set was!
Before this he had never been introduced to the story of Jesus’ birth or any of the other stories in the Bible. Dad began to teach him about the Bible and it’s stories and Cootie eagerly soaked up the information. But the town still didn’t know if Cootie would actually make a decent Nativity.
What would Cootie McKay’s Nativity look like? What would everyone in the town think?
The Secret of Snow Village
Katherine’s grandmother carefully sets up her ceramic village every year for Christmas. On this particular Christmas Eve Katherine begins to wonder why her the village at grandmother’s house looks so peaceful. That night she spent much time imaging what might be happening in that little village. It begins to take over her thinking.
At bedtime she had a hard time going to sleep, finally after everyone else was asleep she heard what she thought was a church bell and laughing. She got up and looked around, but no one else was up.
When she realizes that the Christmas village has come to life she is captivated. Will she find what she is looking for in the little village?
The Stranger
The dark stranger that had wondered into their town as Christmas approached had the entire church concerned at Christmas Eve service. Sam had to wonder why the stranger had visited every household in the church except his. However, father assured him that with the severe winter storm would keep even the stranger away from their house.
Then after the electricity in their was knocked out from the storm, there was a knock at the door. When father opened the door and insisted the stranger come in and get out of the cold, driving snow.
For some reason though, his family didn’t feel afraid of the stranger. Why was the stranger there? Why had everyone else been so afraid to host him?
Harold Grubbs and the Christmas Vest
Isaac’s dad just had to pull out that old Christmas vest the first Sunday after Thanksgiving. Isaac couldn’t understand why he insisted on wearing that old thing. Then as his dad began to tell the story of why he wore the Christmas vest Isaac began to understand.
Mr. Grubb’s made such a transformation from a man who seemed mad at the world and hated children. When he was saved Harold Grubb’s became the nicest man in town. The folks could hardly believe it.
When Mr. Grubb’s passes away, Isaac’s dad decides that he really should have the Christmas vest. In fact, dad really felt that he should wear that special Christmas vest. What was it about that vest that Isaac’s dad find in the pockets of that vest that made it so special?
