As the days grow shorter and cooler, it makes me think seriously about the days of winter coming. One thing that I have more time for in the winter is reading. Now is a great time to stock up on some great homesteading/farming reading material. Some of these are even on sale right through Amazon.
I have read both of these books by Jim Gerrish, however, we don’t own a copy of either so they are on my list to get. As we have been getting our farm seeded back down and set up in a Management Intensive Grazing system, it will be good to be able to reference Jim’s MIG book.
We have been continually working to improve our forage, to the point that I hope that we can start producing grassfed, grass finished beef. There are so many health benefits with grassfed meats, dairy and eggs.
I already own You Can Farm: The Entrepreneur’s Guide to Start & Succeed in a Farming Enterprise book. In fact, I bought it nearly 20 years ago when I was in college. I’m sure lots of college girls are buying and reading sustainable ag books, right? Anyway, I would really like to read Your Successful Farm Business.
Holistic Management is also right up there on my list of books to get and read. I would love for us to have a framework for making decisions that will benefit our farm for generations to come.
Blessings,
Jennifer

These look good! We have only 1/2 acre of our own, but have just cleared 2-3 acres across the road that we are allowed to use for our cow, and need to figure out how to make them work.
I hope these are helpful to you!
I have read a lot of homesteading books, but these are new to me. Thank you for telling me about them.
Thank you for stopping by!
