Educeri ……. Educeri a division of DataWORKS has over 1000 Ready to Teach Lessons available with their Educeri Lesson Subscription Service. We received a year long membership to this Subscription Service in exchange for my review.
Educeri is self-described as, “team of educators, editors, graphic designers, grammar snobs, and math nerds who are passionate about providing top-notch educational materials.” Their goal is to make the lives of teachers easier, eliminating those late night panic attacks.
There are a wide variety of topics covered in the over 1,000 lessons available through Educeri. Those consist of Math (413 lessons for all grades), English Language Arts (525 lessons for all grades), Science (22 lessons, mostly middle-high school), History (26 lessons, mostly 5th grade and up), Art, PE, and Music (only 1-2 lessons each).
I found the search engines to be very useful! I could search by grade level,
or by subject,
or by keywords.
The lessons are similar to a power point presentation. There is no prerecorded sound instead there are notes for the teacher to teach the concepts using the available presentation.
Below I will walk you through a typical lesson. This particular lesson is just one of the many phonics lessons available. You will see a turquoise bar labeled “Teach Lesson” This will take you through a series of slides.
The small blue box is the link for the pdf student handout. Below you will see page one of the four page student handout available with this particular lesson. Each lesson has a downloadable student hand out available.
These are some screenshots from with the Decode Words lesson:
In the upper right corner, there is a drop down menu with “Marker Tools” that has options for using a highlighter, pen or erasing what you have drawn. This helps you be able to point out important things to your student(s) easier. You will notice that I have used the highlight function on the word bat and have circled the word clap with the pen function. If you highlight or use the pen and then decide that you want to erase it just use the eraser and click on one part of the highlighting or writing.
According to the Educeri website, they are working on creating online quizzes which will check for students’ understanding.
Many, many of the lessons provided through Educeri Lesson Subscription Service are Common Core Aligned. I don’t seek out Common Core materials; however, in a classroom setting I can see where this alignment would be quite helpful.
In the homeschool setting, I can see where the option of having the lessons taught through the program would be nice. In our household, we have a variety of ages and abilities so when they can work fairly independently that certainly helps. However, there are a lot of resources available that can really supplement our homeschool curriculum.
