It’s no secret that I love books so imagine how much fun I had recently when we had the opportunity to pick out some great titles from Library and Educational Services LLC. As part of this review, we were actually instructed to pick three different types of products from L.E.S., one each from the Who Was? Series and the Lifehouse Theater CDs and up to $60 of Reinforced Hardcover Library Binding Nonfiction books.
So I chose Who Was Mark Twain?, from the Who Was? series and The Misadventures of Tom Sawyer from the Lifehouse Theater CDs. This was a perfect way to introduce the younger kids to Mark Twain and Tom Sawyer! Now we just need to schedule a trip to Hannibal so they can walk where Mark Twain walked.
The real challenge came when deciding on the other books because there are so many great books available! I’m not even kidding, there are so many great options and the prices are amazing! With the help of the kids here is what we ended up with:
- The Reformation – Events and Outcomes for $4.95
- Courageous Heroes of the American West – Set of 7 for $37.17
- Understanding the Civil War – Set of 3 for $17.21
We got 11 books for $59.33, that’s an average $5.39 each for reinforced hardcover library bound books! These books are beautiful and are made to stand the test of time and many hands for sure.

Our Experience with L.E.S and the Books We Received
The process of ordering our books was very easy and they were shipped out very quickly after we ordered them. The books themselves are very good quality.
I read the Who Was Mark Twain? book aloud to the younger kids. They thoroughly enjoyed it. We then started listening to the audio of The Misadventures of Tom Sawyer at bedtime. The audio is 70 minutes long so we’ve been listening to about 10 minutes each evening. The audio is well done and has been thoroughly enjoyed by the whole family.
I am looking forward to Adisyn using the Civil War series in conjunction with her history class this year; while Eli will be reading through the Courageous Heroes of the American West. The Reformation – Events and Outcomes will be a family read aloud this winter when things slow down on the farm (As much as I love summer, I do really enjoy the extra reading time we get in the winter. I’m just not ready for that cold weather quite yet.)
I can whole-heartedly recommended L.E.S. as a great source for high quality, wholesale priced books! I will certainly be using them in the future!
